Police have today (Wednesday, May 17) raided some homes and businesses of refugees operating illegally in some parts of the country.
In Lilongwe the law enforcers have closed some businesses in Kawale, Area 36, Area 49 and Area 25.
Both Malawi Police Headquarters Spokesperson Peter Kalaya and Ministry of Homeland Security Spokesperson Patrick Botha have confirmed the development.
According to Botha, the Ministry warned the refugees to relocate to Dzaleka Refugee Camp and that failure to do so would force the authorities to evict them by force.
